Ethical science journalism will be the focus of the 2016 third “Know Thyself Science Journalist” survey

Know thyself 2016After the two pilot editions of the online survey “Know Thyself Science Journalist“, held in 2012 and 2014, that received more than 750 responses from professionals of science journalism and science communication from all continents, we were invited to join forces with the authors of the important  “Global science journalism report: working conditions & practices, professional ethos and future expectations“, from the London School of Economics and the Brazilian Museu da Vida, published in 2013 (click to download the pdf).

Schermata 2015-10-04 alle 10.52.23We are now planning to work together on a new version of the online survey – to be launched in 2016 – that will build on the cumulative experience of both groups and will put special emphasis on both science journalism professional ethos and  ethics.
The goal is to fine-tune a tool to “measure the temperature” of science journalism –  particularly in its relationships with ethics –  so to have a reliable baseline and then the opportunity to monitor in a quali-quantitative way the general health of the profession every two years.
